This is the first ever cross country mountain bike race to give you the opportunity to ride the unpaved dirt roads at the UP Los Baños campus experimental farm fields.
This cross country bike race aims to promote biking as a lifestyle, as well as to promote Los Baños as a biking destination and emphasize its stature as a Science and Nature City.
The race will start and end at the back of the APEC building and will go through the road at the Technology Incubator on through the IRRI upland rice fields then back through IPB National Seed Foundation to Biotech and NCPC and back to the Center which is more or less around 6KM.
It’s a wonderful area were we have rice fields juxtaposed against a forested mountain, and will show how scientific research complements nature conservation.

START LINE Lakewood Subd.Tadlac – Bagong Kalsada – National Road – Lalakay – Eldridge -Timugan – Anos – Batong Malake – San Antonio – Maahas-Open University/IRRI – Buot (turn right to Tuntungin) – Putho – Tuntungin (turn right to Sison hill and take small road on the the left) -DTRI/Animal Husbandry – Baker Hall – Men’s/Women’s Dorm – IH/Auditorium -Forestry (Administration bldg. then turn left to go down)

Organized by the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME), University of the Philippines Los Baños, the race is an advocacy campaign for the restoration and rehabilitation of typhoon-damaged hiking trails to the mountain’s summit. It also coincides with the 99th year anniversary of Mt. Makiling ’s proclamation as a forest reserve on 21 November 1910.
