Gentlemen:

Re: Class 1 Vehicles with Top Load / High Load

Please be informed that in the meeting held on 24 July 2012 among TRB and tollway concessionaires and operators, it was agreed that Class 1 vehicles exceeding seven (7) feet in height due to top load of recreational equipment such as bikes, surfboards and the like, which are safely attached to the vehicles and not intended for commercial purposes shall be classiffied as Class 1.

We trust that the foregoing shall be consistently implemented in all the tollways.

Warmest regards.

Very truly yours,

(Signed)
Atty. Edmundo O. Reyes Jr.
Executive Director

This is definitely good news to us bikers who have roof-rack-mounted bikes on our vehicles that go up North.

A good tip shared by C! Magazine Editor-in-Chief  James Deakin would be to have a copy of the order on hand just in case the tollway tellers in NLEX or SCTEX still demand that you pay Class 2 fees.

Enjoy your trip up North. But always bear in mind TRB’s slogan… Travel Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe.
